Description: "09/24/1967: A three and a half inch ""bazooka"" rocket, attached to a clock and a battery, was found in the bushes near ""Africa Place"" on the Expo 67 grounds minutes before United Nations Secretary General U Thant arrived at the scene. It was defused six minutes before the time it was set to explode. The rocket was similar to one found near Cuba's Expo pavilion on 8/04/19...
Description: "09/24/1967: A three and a half inch ""bazooka"" rocket, attached to a clock and a battery, was found in the bushes near ""Africa Place"" on the Expo 67 grounds minutes before United Nations Secretary General U Thant arrived at the scene. It was defused six minutes before the time it was set to explode. The rocket was similar to one found near Cuba's Expo pavilion on 8/04/1967 (anti-Castro Cuban groups often used rocket propelled grenades). U Thant's visit to Expo was cancelled. At 8:30 a.m. an Expo security guard found a note written on toilet paper, in the west wing of Habitat 67 where U Thant was resting, warning that a bomb was set to go off one hour later. The warning proved to be a hoax."
