Description: 05/07/1970: A powerful dynamite blast at 12:12 a.m. heavily damaged an east end postal substation and injured a passerby. The bomb was dumped down the mail chute. The blast tore the chute from the depot's wall and tossed it 75 feet away. Mail was scattered all about the postal depot located at Papineau and Mount Royal. At least five sticks of dynamite were used in the bomb. The incident was connected with the postal strike then under way.
