Description: "01/04/1973: A Pacific Western Airlines Convair turboprop, that was scheduled to fly from Vancouver International Airport to Penticton and Castlegar, was taken over on the ground by C.K. Neilson. At the time of the takeover, 19 persons were on board. Neilson used a toy gun and threatened to blow up the plane if he was not paid $2 million and flown to North Vietnam. Neilson released the passengers. Police boarded the plane and overpowered the hijacker, who was ordered to undergo a mental examination."
