Description: "03/23/1979: The Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) claimed credit for a bomb that went off at 3 p.m. next to Zion Square, Jerusalem, in a garbage can near a downtown taxi stand. A 72 year-old Israeli man was killed, and 12 Israelis, a Canadian woman, and a German man were injured. The bombing came hours after Prime Minister Begin left for the United States to sign the Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty. The statement issued by the PLO in Beirut warned that it would step up its campaign to protest the treaty."
