Description: "09/03/1984: An American angry at the imminent Pope's visit to Canada bombed Montreal's Central Station. The attack killed three and wounded more than 30 people. Police speculated that the powerful bomb comprised a pipe filled with gunpowder, dynamite, and possibly gasoline. After an insanity plea was rejected, an elderly retired American armed forces officer was sentenced to life imprisonment; it is unclear whether the act was a political one or simply the product of an unstable mind."
