Description: "02/27/1997: Canadian Serge L’Archer, and three of his Nigerien colleagues working for the Canadian Centre for International Studies and Co-operation were kidnapped by Toubou rebels in Niger. The rebels belonged to the Revolutionary Democratic Front, also reported as the Revolutionary Armed Forces of the Sahara. Two of the Nigerien captives were released in March 1997. The Canadian, Serge L'Archer, was released after 12 weeks on 06/26/1997. "
