Description: "04/18/2001: A plot to commit an armed assault on Summit of the Americas (SOA) venue in Quebec City was disrupted. Seven men were arrested by a joint forces operation by police involved in security for the Summit. The specific ideology of the conspirators is not yet clear, but some have ties to the Montreal anarchist community. Some of the conspirators had served in the Canadian Armed Forces, their actions were well planned and they had access to weapons. The seven were found guilty of several charges relating to the disruption of the SOA, plotting to use Molotov cocktails, putting lives of police officers and public at risk. Four of the men were found guilty of possession of explosives. All sentences were suspended with some conditions and the guilty were ordered to perform community service. "
