Description: "11/00/2008: Pro-Taliban militants took a Canadian journalist hostage in the Jani Khel area of Bannu district in Pakistan’s North West Frontier. On 03/18/2009, the militants threatened to kill the journalist. In a video message accompanying the threat Khadeja Qahaar stated that she was seriously ill and appealed to the Pakistani and Canadian governments for assistance in securing her release."
